Richard Harvey is an English composer and multi-instrumentalist, born in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire in 1953, who began his career in the early 1970s as a member of the progressive folk group Gryphon before moving into composition for film and television. Blending early-music instruments and techniques with contemporary orchestration, his output spans progressive folk, classical and film-score idioms and has evolved from performance and arrangement into a focus on composing and conducting for screen and concert contexts.
