Orchestre du Domaine musical was formed in Paris in the mid-1950s as the resident ensemble of the Domaine musical concert series, specialising in contemporary classical and avant-garde repertoire. It focused on presenting post-war modernist works, introducing serialism, experimental techniques and new compositional approaches through performances and premieres that influenced the reception of contemporary music in France.
