Frances‐Marie Uitti

Frances-Marie Uitti is a US-born cellist who began her professional career in the late 20th century, specialising in contemporary classical, experimental and improvised music. She is known for pioneering extended techniques—most famously the use of two bows simultaneously and various preparations of the instrument—and for commissioning and collaborating on new works that bridge composition and improvisation within contemporary music contexts.
