Kim Cascone is an American electronic composer and producer who began releasing work in the 1980s and founded the Silent label in the early 1990s, working across ambient, drone, electroacoustic and experimental electronic genres. His work blends ambient textures, signal processing and glitch techniques, and his essay "The Aesthetics of Failure" outlined concepts about post-digital aesthetics that have been discussed within experimental music and sound-art contexts.
