Thundercat is an American musician from Los Angeles who began performing in the early 2000s and has worked as a bassist, vocalist and songwriter within jazz, funk, R&B and electronic music. His work is characterised by intricate bass lines, falsetto vocals and a synthesis of jazz fusion, funk, soul and electronic textures, evolving from band and session work into solo recordings that blend introspective lyrical themes with experimental production.
