Christopher Gibbons

Christopher Gibbons was an English composer and organist born in 1615 who was active in the mid-17th century, working principally in sacred and keyboard music. His work bridges the late Renaissance contrapuntal tradition and emerging Baroque idioms, and he contributed to the restoration of church music and the continuation of English sacred music traditions during and after the Restoration.
