Antônio Francisco Braga

Antônio Francisco Braga was a Brazilian composer and conductor from Rio de Janeiro, active from the late 19th century into the mid-20th century and associated with classical and nationalist musical traditions. His works — including orchestral pieces, choral music and songs — combine European late-Romantic forms with Brazilian melodic and patriotic elements, and he served as a teacher and conductor involved in the development of Brazil's musical institutions.
