Francesco Spinacino

Francesco Spinacino was an Italian lutenist and composer active in the early 16th century, known from printed collections of lute intabulations issued in Venice around 1507. His surviving pieces, including ricercars, fantasias and dance arrangements, exemplify early Renaissance lute technique and the shift towards instrumental polyphony in Italian music, and they provide documentary evidence of contemporary performance practice and ornamentation.
