Dario Castello

Dario Castello was an Italian composer and instrumentalist active in Venice in the early 17th century, associated with the early Baroque and noted for publishing collections of instrumental sonatas and canzonas. His music features idiomatic, often virtuosic writing for winds and strings, uses concertato textures between solo groups and continuo, and contributed to the development of the instrumental sonata tradition in northern Italy.
