Cecil McBee

Cecil McBee is an American jazz double bassist from Tulsa, Oklahoma, who began his professional career in the late 1950s and became active on the New York jazz scene in the 1960s. His work spans hard bop, post-bop and avant-garde jazz, combining a resonant, supportive bass approach with roles as a bandleader, frequent sideman and educator across several decades.
