Jan Welmers

Jan Welmers is a Dutch composer and organist whose career began in the mid-20th century and who worked primarily within contemporary classical and organ music. His compositions are characterised by minimalist textures, repetitive processes and an exploration of timbre and organ registration, reflecting a career-long development towards austere, process-driven works that contributed to the modern Dutch organ repertoire.
