The Cedar Walton Trio are an American jazz piano trio formed in the 1960s, emerging from the United States jazz scene and rooted in hard bop and post-bop traditions. Their music combines bebop-derived improvisation, blues-inflected harmonies and a swinging rhythmic drive characteristic of piano-bass-drums ensembles, and over decades their repertoire and arrangements incorporated modal and more modern harmonic approaches while remaining a regular feature on club stages and recordings.
