Beverly Sills

Beverly Sills was an American operatic soprano from Brooklyn, New York, who began performing as a child on radio and stage and established her professional opera career in the mid-20th century. She specialised in a bright, agile lyric repertoire, particularly bel canto and light-lyric roles, and later moved into artistic administration and public advocacy for American opera.
