The Group for Contemporary Music is an American chamber ensemble formed in New York City in 1962 to perform contemporary classical repertoire. Specialising in modern and avant‑garde works, the ensemble championed new compositions and exploratory techniques, becoming associated with performances of serial, electronic and experimental scores within the post‑war contemporary music scene.
