Charles Bordes

Charles Bordes was a French composer and music educator born in 1863 who became active in the late 19th century and co‑founded the Schola Cantorum in Paris to promote sacred, choral and early music. He championed the revival and study of medieval and Renaissance liturgical repertoire and developed an approach to choral composition and teaching rooted in plainchant and polyphony that influenced church and academic music circles in France.
