Joseph Mayseder was an Austrian violinist and composer active in Vienna from the early 19th century, working primarily within Classical and early Romantic chamber and concert repertoire. His compositions include violin concertos, chamber works and salon pieces characterised by virtuosic violin writing and a bridge between Viennese Classical forms and early Romantic expressiveness, and he was active as a performer and teacher within Vienna's musical institutions.
