The University of Michigan Symphony Orchestra is the principal student symphony orchestra of the University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre & Dance, based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, formed to provide orchestral training and public performances within the university setting. Performing a classical orchestral repertoire that ranges from Baroque and Romantic works to contemporary compositions and commissions, it functions as an educational ensemble within the conservatory model and contributes to campus cultural life through concerts, collaborations and touring.
