Krzysztof Meyer is a Polish composer, pianist and musicologist born in Kraków in 1943 who began composing and teaching in the 1960s and is associated with contemporary classical music. His output spans chamber music, symphonies and operas and is characterised by contrapuntal clarity and use of serial and modernist techniques, and over his career he moved towards larger-scale, more dramatic forms, contributing to the development of late 20th-century Polish composition.
