Jimmy McPartland

Jimmy McPartland was an American jazz cornetist from Chicago who began his career in the early 1920s within the city's emerging jazz scene and became associated with the Chicago style and Dixieland traditions. He played in both small-group and larger-ensemble settings throughout his career, favouring a melodic, blues-inflected approach that bridged traditional Dixieland phrasing with swing-era sensibilities and later participation in mid-century jazz revivals.
