Carl Stone is an American electronic composer and sound artist, born in Los Angeles in 1953, who began producing experimental computer- and sampler-based music in the late 1970s and developed his career through live performance and studio work. Working with tape, samplers, laptops and turntables, his practice has evolved from analogue collage to real-time digital processing and is situated within experimental electronic and sound-art contexts in both the United States and Japan.
