Douglas Gamley was an Australian-born composer, arranger and conductor who moved to the United Kingdom and worked from the 1950s onwards composing and arranging music for film and television. His output combined orchestral film scoring with adaptations and arrangements of classical material, and he frequently contributed music to British horror and thriller productions, reflecting mid-20th-century efforts to bridge concert music techniques with cinematic demands.
