Gary Karr

Gary Karr is an American classical double-bass soloist, born in 1941, who began his performing career in the early 1960s and concentrated on presenting the double bass in solo and chamber music contexts. His repertoire ranges from Baroque transcriptions to contemporary works, and he has been active in teaching, writing and promoting new and existing repertoire to expand the instrument's presence in recital and orchestral literature.
