Jacob Avshalomov (1919–2013) was an American conductor and composer born in Tsingtao, China, who began his conducting and composing career in the mid-20th century and worked primarily in orchestral, choral and educational music. His work combined Western orchestral technique with influences from Asian musical idioms and American regional themes, and his career included long-term leadership of youth and community orchestras alongside a substantial output of orchestral and choral compositions aimed at performance and education.
