Angela Gheorghiu is a Romanian operatic soprano from Bucharest who began her professional career in the early 1990s after training at the National University of Music, specialising in opera and concert repertoire. Her repertoire centres on lyric soprano roles within the Italian and French traditions, particularly works by Puccini, Verdi and Massenet, and her career has included performances at major international opera houses and numerous studio and live recordings that have shaped contemporary approaches to these roles.
