Mahavishnu Orchestra

Mahavishnu Orchestra were an American jazz fusion band formed in 1971 in New York City during the early 1970s fusion movement. Their music combined electric jazz and rock with complex time signatures, extended improvisation and Eastern-influenced modalities, and they evolved through several line-ups to incorporate orchestral textures and broader world-music elements that affected subsequent fusion and progressive musicians.
