Ernest Gold
Ernest Gold was an Austrian-born American composer who emigrated to the United States in 1938 and established a career writing music for film and television. His work is characterised by lyrical orchestral writing combined with occasional modernist textures and recurring thematic motifs, and he also composed concert and incidental music that reflected mid-20th-century film-scoring practices.
