Jason Kao Hwang

Jason Kao Hwang is an American violinist and composer based in New York who began his career in the late 20th century, working across jazz, free improvisation and contemporary classical music. Hwang's work blends jazz, free improvisation and elements of East Asian musical traditions, moving between composed large-ensemble pieces and open improvisation to examine diasporic identity and cross-cultural dialogue.
