Adolf Busch was a German violinist, composer and conductor who began his career in the early 20th century and is chiefly associated with classical and chamber music. He founded the Busch Quartet, championed both standard and contemporary repertoire, and after leaving Germany during the Nazi era combined solo and chamber performance with teaching in Switzerland and the United States.
