Wolfgang Muthspiel is an Austrian jazz guitarist and composer who began his professional career in the late 1980s and has worked across the European and American jazz scenes in both small-group and larger ensemble contexts. His music blends lyrical guitar improvisation with elements of chamber music and contemporary composition, evolving from small-group jazz into projects that incorporate orchestral and folk-influenced textures and a European jazz sensibility that balances improvisation with composed structures.
