String Trio of New York

String Trio of New York are an American chamber-jazz ensemble formed in New York City in 1977. They merge elements of free jazz, contemporary classical and chamber music in a three-piece string format, combining composed material with collective improvisation and participating in the downtown New York avant-garde scene.
