Samuel Sebastian Wesley

Samuel Sebastian Wesley was an English organist and composer born in 1810 who built his career in the mid-19th century specialising in Anglican church music and organ repertoire. His compositions, including hymn tunes and anthems characterised by prominent melodic lines and contrapuntal textures, contributed to the development of Victorian liturgical music and remained part of the Anglican choral tradition.
