Georg Christoph Wagenseil

Georg Christoph Wagenseil was an Austrian composer of the early Classical period, born in Vienna in 1715 and active there and at various courts from the 1730s until his death in 1777. His output includes operas, orchestral and chamber works and keyboard music, showing a transition from late Baroque textures to clearer Classical forms and playing a role in the development of the mid-18th-century Viennese musical scene.
