Lotte Lehmann
Lotte Lehmann was a German soprano born in Perleberg, Prussia, who began her professional career in the early 20th century and specialised in opera and art song (Lieder). Her repertoire centred on German Romantic and early modern works, including roles and songs associated with Wagner and Richard Strauss, and she later worked as a teacher and promoted interpretation of the Lieder repertoire during her later years in the United States.
