Jacques Jansen
Jacques Jansen was a French baritone who began his career in the mid-20th century, performing primarily in opera and French art song (mélodie). He became particularly associated with the title role in Debussy's Pelléas et Mélisande and was identified with a light, speech-inflected approach to the French vocal repertoire that informed mid-20th-century interpretations of French opera and mélodie.
