Barry Gibb is a Manx-born singer-songwriter and musician who began his career in the late 1950s as a founding member of the Bee Gees, working primarily in pop, rock and later disco genres. His high tenor and falsetto and his songwriting underpinned the group's shift from close-harmony pop to 1970s disco, and he later recorded solo material that incorporated country and adult contemporary influences.
