Feminist Improvising Group

The Feminist Improvising Group is an all-female improvising ensemble formed in London in 1977 that emerged from the free improvisation and experimental music scenes. Their work combined free improvisation, extended techniques, noise and theatrical elements within a rotating lineup and engaged explicitly with feminist cultural discourse and practices.
