Anatol Vieru

Anatol Vieru was a Romanian composer and music theorist active from the mid-20th century, primarily associated with contemporary classical music. His output included symphonies, chamber and vocal works and stage pieces, with a stylistic trajectory that moved from neoclassical and serial techniques towards incorporation of modal and folk-influenced elements, and he was active as a teacher and theorist within Romanian musical institutions.
