The Art Farmer Quartet
The Art Farmer Quartet were an American jazz group formed and led by trumpeter Art Farmer, emerging in the 1950s within the hard bop and post-bop traditions. The group's style emphasised lyrical horn lines, muted tones and close interplay with its rhythm section, reflecting a move from bebop towards more melodic, understated approaches that contributed to the evolution of small-group modern jazz.
