Susumu Yokota was a Japanese electronic music composer and producer from Tokyo who began releasing music in the early 1990s, working across genres such as ambient, techno and experimental electronica. His output evolved from sample-based techno and house into atmospheric, sample-rich ambient and experimental pieces characterised by pastoral melodies, dense sonic collages and a focus on texture that connected him to both the Japanese electronic scene and the international ambient community.
