Burt Bacharach

Burt Bacharach was an American composer, songwriter and pianist from Kansas City, Missouri, who began his career in the 1950s writing and arranging pop, easy listening and adult contemporary songs. His music is characterised by sophisticated melodies, unusual chord progressions and irregular time signatures that blend elements of jazz and classical arrangement, and he frequently collaborated with lyricists to create songs that became part of the mid-20th century popular repertoire.
