Ivry Gitlis
Ivry Gitlis was an Israeli violinist born in Haifa in 1922 who began performing publicly in the 1930s and built a career in classical music. He was noted for an improvisatory, expressive approach to a wide repertoire spanning Baroque to contemporary works and was active internationally as a performer, recording artist and teacher, engaging in cross-cultural musical projects.
