Marc Mellits is an American composer who emerged in the late 1990s and early 2000s, working primarily in contemporary classical and postminimalist idioms. His music blends driving rhythmic patterns, amplified instruments and influences from rock and minimalism, often written for chamber ensembles and electric groups and frequently featured in contemporary concert programmes.
