Jarmila Novotna

Jarmila Novotná was a Czech operatic soprano born in Prague in 1907 who began her professional career in the late 1920s, performing in opera and theatre settings. She specialised in lyric soprano repertoire including Mozart, Puccini and Czech opera, building an international career with engagements across European houses and later in the United States while also appearing in films and recordings that linked operatic traditions to broader cultural audiences.
