Rutland Boughton

Rutland Boughton was an English composer active from the early 20th century, known principally for his operas and choral works within the late-Romantic tradition. His music combined Wagnerian-inspired music-drama and English folk elements, and he promoted community-oriented festivals and amateur performance as a means to broaden access to serious music.
