Iarla Ó Lionáird

Iarla Ó Lionáird is an Irish sean-nós singer from Cahersiveen, County Kerry, who first came to prominence in the 1990s through work in traditional Irish music and subsequently pursued a career spanning solo recordings and collaborative projects. His approach blends the ornamented, unaccompanied sean-nós vocal tradition with elements of contemporary electronic, ambient and world music, and through cross-genre collaborations he has helped bring Irish-language singing into broader contemporary music contexts.
