Walter Boeykens

Walter Boeykens was a Belgian classical clarinettist and conductor who began his performing career in the mid-20th century, appearing with orchestras and in chamber ensembles. He specialised in classical and contemporary repertoire, commissioning and championing new works for the clarinet while combining performing with teaching and conducting, thereby contributing to the instrument's 20th- and 21st-century repertoire and pedagogy.
