Isobel Buchanan is a Scottish operatic soprano from Glasgow who began her professional career in the 1970s after training at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama and went on to work with major opera companies in the UK and Europe. Her repertoire has encompassed lyric and colouratura roles in works by Mozart, Handel and Verdi, and across a career of opera house engagements, concert performances and recordings she has helped sustain the profile of British sopranos on the international operatic stage.
