Laura Nyro
Laura Nyro was an American singer-songwriter from the Bronx, New York City, who began recording in 1967 and worked across pop, soul, jazz, folk and R&B. Her work combined intricate chordal structures, introspective lyrics and eclectic arrangements, evolving over her career and resulting in compositions that were frequently covered by other artists and that influenced the development of soul-pop and the contemporary singer-songwriter tradition.
