Black Midi are an English rock band formed in London in 2017, emerging from the city's experimental and post-punk scenes and associated with genres including experimental rock, math rock and art rock. Their music is characterised by complex rhythms, abrasive textures and improvisational elements, and across successive releases they have incorporated jazz, electronic and avant-garde influences while engaging with theatrical live performances within the contemporary UK experimental scene.
