The Tolkien Ensemble are a Danish musical group formed in Copenhagen in 1995 to set the poems and songs from J. R. R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings to music, working across classical, choral and folk-influenced traditions. Their recordings and live projects present formal arrangements and chamber textures that blend orchestral, choral and folk instruments, often incorporating spoken narration and theatrical elements as part of a multi-album effort to present complete musical settings of Tolkien's verse.
